Movement of Flocked Subpopulations in Distributed Genetic Programming

چکیده
The rules of swarming intelligence can be applied to govern migration in the distributed genetic programming (DGP) algorithm, but they require modifications. Initial rules are taken from the flocking algorithm and adapted for DGP. As the rule for the alignment of direction is completely discarded and the remaining rules operate on implicit data of subpopulation locations, the resulting joint search technique must be reevaluated. This article presents the pragmatic coupling of flocking and DGP algorithms. The experiment of visualizing the movement of DGP subpopulations through the search space provides a graphic overview of the behavior of DGP subpopulations. The results confirm a typical influence of the modified flocking rules to the flockmates represented by the subpopulations.

A comparison of genetic algorithm and auto -regressive distributed lag model in determination of total factors productivity growth in the agricultural sector of iran
ABSTRACT-Due to the important role productivity plays in future decision making and programming, the productivity indexes should have accurate quantities. In this study, Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and Genetic Algorithm (GA) methods are applied to time series of 1978-2008 to accurately measure total factor productivity (TFP) in the agricultural sector of Iran. The comparison of these...

STOCK DEFINITION AND GEOGRAPHIC RANGE Hawaiian monk seals are distributed throughout the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (NWHI) in six main reproductive subpopulations at French Frigate Shoals, Laysan and Lisianski Islands, Pearl and Hermes Reef, and Midway and Kure Atoll. Small numbers also occur at Necker, Nihoa, and the main Hawaiian Islands, primarily at Niihau. Genetic variation in Hawaiian ...
متن کاملIranian Lurs Genetic Diversity: An Anthropological View Based on HLA Class II Profiles
Background: HLA genes are highly polymorphic and certain alleles are frequent only in specific populations. Therefore, HLA is a unique tool for studying the genetic relationship between different populations. Iranians are ethnically diverse people and one of the major ethnic groups in Iran is Lur population inhabiting along the central and southern parts of Zagros Chain Mountain. Objectives: Ge...

متن کاملStudying the influence of Synchronous and Asynchronous Parallel GP on Programs Length Evolution
In this paper we present a study of parallel and distributed genetic programming models and their relationships with the bloat phenomenon. The experiments that we have performed have also allowed us to find an interesting link between the number of processes, subpopulations and the model we should use when applying parallelism to GP. We study the synchronous and asynchronous version of the isla...
